"Im her biggest Fan"

Friday night we got to watch Kayla perform at the "Basha Talent Show". It was weird how emotional I got watching her. Im always proud of her, but I had some sadness set in as I realized I probably wont get to watch her perform too much after she graduates. I use to love watching her play volleyball, but this is different. She LOVES singing and its a big part of who she is. I'll be soaking up every minute I can watching her and listening to her singing around the house.

These are some of Kaylas buds: Malorie, Aubry, Kayla and Snoopy!
Saturday night was the Annual LIGHT Benefit Concert. It was so energetic! Quick costume changes, funny announcer, sooo many different number, it really was fun.

Kayla is in front kicking up her boots.

She's on the right side of the amazing Gary.
Kayla had alot of friends and family there to support her. It means so much to her and Bill and I that our family and friends are there - THANKS!!! We appreciate you all!

Keven, Daniel, Alex, Katelyn and Kayla

Grandma and Grandpa Guttery and Aunt Fern and Aunt Kay are always at her performances - Thanks for sitting through the loud music! (She has another one this Wednesday???) Last night they put on a Fireside in the Chandler Stake and she sang "He came for me". That is where I feel her voice is the purest and she has the biggest influence for good. Big thanks to Tim, her teacher that provides all these opportunities to grow in spirituality, talents and confidence.

Grandma Guttery, Bill and Aunt Fern

SISTERS~~Danica, Kayla and Breea

They really DID enjoy the show.

For those of you that missed Kaylas LIGHT performance, here are some short clips. THANKS a ton to those of you that came

The dark hair guy to the left is one of her best friends, Gary. He's just got his mission call to California!

These are a couple of number from "Hairspray" performed Saturday night with LIGHT!

This is for one of my favorite NON-COMMENTING readers - Love you Trishalishus

I live in Hawaii, have my own mountain and a perfect child, ahhhh.....

I Love "Guttery Peak" this time of year when the air is cool and clear and their is a slight green cover. If you take Breeas school out of the picture it almost feels like parts of Hawaii. What? Its not called Guttery Peak and Im delusional in my whole "Hawaii" theory?

On to Tessa and her "Marching Hat". She has loved pre-school, but has had occasional bad days. It was fun picking her up and hearing how she was happy and nice to all her friends. (dont know if its true, once again, but let me dream)

Backward post from Monday back to Saturday

Monday was Presidents Day and the Hall Family brings us a cherry pie every year. This year our delivery girls were Audrey and Amy. Presidents Day is also "Dont wash your hair or put on make-up day" Thanks for the pie cute girls, next time bring the boys out! Earlier in the evening we met Dani and Brennon at Applebees to use a gift certificate that was burning a whole in my purse. Brennon and McKenna were mortified that I ordered one of every appetizer on the menu (they were half off, I couldnt pass it up) Then we had a couple of desserts. Cant figure out why I am coming in 17th out of 22 on our Biggest Looser challange???

Sunday was a cool day. Three stakes met and were made into 5 stakes! Our new Stake is called the Queen Creek Chandler Heights Stake. We get to keep our same Stake Presidency - Richardson, Matheson and Riggs. This is a picture of the new building going up across the street, South of Riggs and Greenfield Acres.

Saturday night we were heading to dinner with family and friends and ran into one of our favorite newleyweds - Nathan and Cherish- love them.
Our other favorite newleyweds met us for dinner too.
I love taking pictures of food, its like re-eating it when I post it.

This is Autum and Regan (when they werent heavily engrossed in conversation)

Little bit about our Aurich friends. We were on a cruise, probably about our 3rd or 4th one and so we knew how the whole seating for dinner takes place and we werent looking forward to it. But the first night on this cruise we sat at the Aurich table and our lives have never been the same. Well, they are pretty great. Blaine and Lisa became our fast friends and we hung the whole trip and its been about 4 years and still love when we can get together with them.

One of our favorite stories was when we were in line on the ship ready to go to a port. Blain and Lisa were quite a bit behind us and everyone was waiting patiently when you hear some crazy guy yell "Hey Bill, hows the rash coming along"? Then Bill waits for a second a yells back "Great, thanks for your ointment". There were probably 200 people that went from dead quiet to laughing. I was so proud. Lisa is adorable and tries to give Blaine the spotlight, because he's good at it, but she is beautiful and one of those girls that softly captures everyones eyes (including the 18 year old boys) She's about 4'11 and we call her the world tallest midget, because she lets us. They got crazy a couple of years ago and had two more kids. I admire her for being able to stay sane while trying to quietly raise 5 kids, while her husband has a HOME office.

Saturday afternoon we got to go listen to Kayla sing at "Regional Choir". This is her third year to make it and we are so proud of her and all she does to improve her talents.

Aunt Claudettes Funeral

Its been a week but, I didnt want too much time go by before I posted about Aunt Claudettes funeral. It was Monday the 11th of February at 10:00 am. Sherida H and Sherida B gave a fun and sweet tribute to her, telling of all the things the kids put her through, like Broc and his car accidents, the bean bag fillings from all the bean bags being sucked up in the airconditioning and recirculated throughout the house and those talks she had in her office with all her kids. She was a party planner, trip taker and always made everyone, including me, feel like she loved them extra. I was able to help get a song together with my sisters, daughters, neice and cousins called "Lead me Home". It was sweet and I felt the moment I heard the words that it was the right song, but was worried about harmony parts. I gave a couple of songs to her daughters and they choice it too. Thanks Aunt Claudette. Brett also gave a tribute to his mom. I know he speaks alot in front of crowds and crowds of people, but when he was talking I felt like he and I were having a conversation and he was telling me all his feelings for his mom and all about what made her special. Im sure others felt the same.

Uncle John seemed very composed, but they were a team and depended on each other and had a good marriage. I know he will miss her hourly.

When we got to the cemetary my dad recited a poem he wrote for her, and my heart broke when I watched him and my mom. They were very close with Aunt Claudette and had tender feelings for her too. Then as they were ready to lower the casket, they had given the grandkids and some other children flower to put on Grandmas casket. It was so sad to see some of these little ones who realized it will be a long time until they could hug Grandma again.

Brett and Jarom - Sherida and Weston

Sisters consoling each other.
Im grateful for the gosple that remind us all how we will be reunited. Besides giving me and the family the comfort of knowing we will be with her again, it reminds me of how SHE is happy now, watching over her family, being with her daughter, brothers, sisters and parents and pain free. I love the Brimhall family and hope I can be a support to them and help feel in some of the gaps they we be feeling.

2008 Valentines Day at the Guttery house

I was looking for a picture of my Love and this one showed up. This is Bill with our mutual Uncle Norman. Before Bill and I got married we had an Aunt and Uncle we shared. Norman is Bills moms brother and his wife, Verna is my dads sister. This picture was perfect in my feelings of my love for Bill. He has so much love for EVERYONE and that is so attractive to me. He's not a real romantic guy, not sentimental and sometimes forgetful with special dates, but he is a constant in this quality of LOVE. Everyone is important to him and you wont hear him say a mean word about anyone, a true word, maybe, but not mean. In our dating days I remember going to the rest home his Grandma Randall was living in. The moment we walked in he was taking care of her. First he asked her if she needed help with her hair and he brushed her hair for a long time. She said "Dont be afraid, a little harder". I think she liked a good scalp massage, he must have got that from her. Then he helped her with her make-up, but he had me when he flossed her teeth. I know, sounds gross, but he was very thoughtful and humble. I also remember when I went to the singles ward with him for the first time and there was a family (the only family there) and they had some little children. We had just sat down and one of the little girls came to him and he picked her right up and held her the whole meeting (it could have been a set up, but it worked). At first when we were dating and would go to a drive-through, I noticed he REALLY talked to people, asked them how they where, if they liked their job, did they have any extra fries hanging around. I thought he was a good flirt, but the more I went places with him, I realized it does the same thing with old men, young boys, moms and really anyone. When we got married my family imediately bonded with him and it was almost like I was the in-law. He's known to honk at anyone and everyone. The kids use to let it annoy them, now they honk and wave at anyone too. He's still the same way, people say to him "you must be running for mayor" (which is a whole other story), but he does want to talk to everyone and let them know he loves them. I feel the same way about people, but he has a special way of making other know he means it. I love how nothing is impossible and he always looks for the good in things. He is the most possitive person I know anywhere, and its helped me, through the years learn to look at life through different eyes. Ive said it before, when Im upset or down, I can now fake myself out of it by being possitive. I love learning from him and I know I really got lucky when Bill Guttery asked me to spend our eternities together.

Valentines day he decorated for me and the girls so when we woke we had some V-tines cheer, then he took care of a car issue for me during the day and took me to dinner and to buy ANOTHER camera. Some women collect shoes or jewlery, I collect broken cameras. While we were gone McKennas good friend Rehgan came over for the night and let me try my new camera out on them. They have been friends for about 5 years and look forward to the next 7 years of school together!

Kayla had a fun night of delivering her "singing telegrams". Every year she puts together packages of 1 song of their choice, 1 rose plant, 1 box of chocolate and a few balloons. Its a great deal for those that are staying in for the night and very personalized. She had a great time, but no crying from couples like last year. When she got home Zach had come over for a bowl of cereal and to play with Brodey.

This is Breeas favorite spot when the boys come over. A blanket and a hard wood floor. Its a great look for you Breea, stay that way always.
