My green bean cassarole was a hit, well, compared to the green olives with pimentos. Mom had me make the relish treys because that's what her family did on Thanksgiving. When we were cleaning up I beleive we actually gained on the green olives, as they didnt fit back in the bottle whence they came. We were down about 6 pickles and the black olives won out a wopping 4 cans down and only three fingers full left. Amazing meal though. George (Merlin) burried the turkey in Taylor and it was so flavorful and juicy (and Im not a big turkey fan). Jason stayed up the night before cooking the pies and fell asleep, thus burning a few and continued cooking pies til about 4:00AM. Thanks, Jase - I enjoyed a peice from every pie!
Sweet Boston made the rounds, everyone wanted a snuggle from that perfect little man!
"Dan, in real life" inspired the stage for our talent show. We have had talent shows in the past, but non to this degree. EVERYONE had to do something. This was Kristal and Breea and their clogging exhibition.
Qool Quinn played his xzylaphone. With his best girl cuz watching in the background. McKenna did her rendition of different dance moves. I wish I had pictures!Bill loves going to church in Holbrook with his mom and dad. Arent they a couple of handsome men?
Both Brennon and Dani got to fufill their dreams. Danica was a rap star and Brennon was her background singer in the background singing "Wheredja go, I miss ya so, since like its been forever since youve been gone" In the most beautiful soprano voice known to MANkind.
Bet and Jamie did a guitar/singing exhibit. Later Bet gave a an improv comeday act that was awesome. She could go somewhere with it!
Thank goodness Aunt Kristall had an extra set of pom poms or we would have seen "cheerleaders gone bolistic" from Tessa. They were adorable. Some of the other talents where: Bill: whistle without moving his mouth, Kayla: sang "the latte boy", Shayna: Clogging, Paula and I did a cheer from H.S., Tracey: named 20 tools in 10 seconds, Jase and the boys: hip/hop dancing, Grandpa: naughty cow poem and Grandma: Songs Grandpa use to sing.
Other highlights were playing sequence (Dani and Brennon brought it) and Volleyball at the church, looking at mom and dads house plans (we made a few changes like the adding of a coat closet and possibly w/d on the other side of the house, taking out a jog in a wall to save a few bucks and some other technical stuff Tracey suggested. I cant wait for them to be in this house! Thank goodness Kristal and Jason will still have room for us to stay with them in Jo City occasional, right Kristal???
Brandon (RM from Kentucky), Breea, Chad, Erica, Collin, Keifer and Austin. We were so happy the Texas Hatchs got to come for Thanksgiving. This is Karen showing us how much she loves her ward!
Mom Guttery (I call her Grandma, cuz she is exactly what a grandma should be) is asking us to go around the circle and tell what we are thankful for. Top votes went to Grandma and Grandpa and being together and having an awesome Guttery meal. Bill was also thankful for Holbrook. Karen must have been too, she spent a few hours photographing that sweet town.
The reason you dont see more food on the table is because Grandma loves bringing the food around and dishing it on your plate (rolls, gravy, drinks) She doesnt sit down, or if she does, she pops right back up to grab more food for someone. I wish I would have talken a picture of Tessa. She never lifted her arms up during meal. Grandma spoon fed her every bite and she didnt have a problem with it, in fact, she made sure she eat about every couple of hours.
After the wonderful meal - some cleaned and some went outside for recreation. This is Austin, Chad and Zach.
Brandon riding and Bill in the back throwing a football.
Danica is trading her car in for a 50!
After riding the boys went shooting and then came back and joined us on the new soft carpet and sofa and watched "Man in the Iron Mask" on the fun new TV. Its a great "snuggle with the kids" couch.
Brennon thinking about football, Dani thinking about Brennon.
I thought I would throw this in. Bill is a total Mammas Boy and his mamma has bits and peices of Bill around her house. This is in the basement bedroom. Its of Bill when he was 7
This bust of Bills head has been proudly displayed for as long as I can remember. Sweet.
Kayla had to go home early to perform in a LIGHT performance, but she did get a little cousin time with Hailey.
